The Nevada State Athletic Commission withheld 20% of his purse, and Tsarukyan was subsequently fined $25,000 and suspended for nine months. However, there's a catch - the suspension could be reduced to six months if Tsarukyan produces an anti-bullying public service announcement.
Despite the incident, Tsarukyan's manager revealed that the UFC had offered him a quick turnaround fight against Islam Makhachev for the title, just hours after his victory over Charles Oliveira. But due to the altercation, Tsarukyan and his team couldn't accept the offer.
In a recent video, Tsarukyan shared that he makes a financial loss if he doesn't win a fight. He explained that his base amount of $150,000, after taxes and training camp expenses, leaves him with nothing. It's the win bonus and sponsorships that make up his income.
Fortunately for Tsarukyan, his win at UFC 300 softened the blow of the fine.
