A Toronto man has been charged with assault and wearing a disguise with intent following a hate-motivated attack during a peaceful demonstration in the city. The incident occurred during the Global Day of Action, a large-scale rally in support of Iran's Lion and Sun Revolution, which attracted over 350,000 participants along Yonge Street. According to police, the suspect, Seyed Vorudi, made anti-Black remarks to the victim before violently assaulting them with a punch to the chest and face. The victim sustained minor injuries, and the suspect was identified wearing a balaclava to conceal his identity. This incident has been treated as a hate crime, with police emphasizing the importance of addressing such acts of discrimination and violence.
