The Battle of Late Night Comedy: Trump vs. Seth Meyers
In a shocking turn of events, President Trump, at 79, has taken aim at another late-night host, Seth Meyers, for his comedic take on Trump's recent speech. But here's where it gets controversial... Trump claims that Meyers' mockery is not just unfunny but potentially illegal!
In a recent segment titled "Seth Translates Trump to English," Meyers hilariously riffed on Trump's speech to U.S. Navy troops. He pointed out how Trump reacts to any criticism, saying, "If anyone dares to say anything less than glowing, Trump loses his cool." Meyers added, "Trump thinks any mean words are treason!"
And this is the part most people miss: Trump, in a furious response, suggested that being "anti-Trump" is against the law! He wrote, "NO TALENT, NO RATINGS, 100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!"
This isn't the first time Meyers has felt the wrath of Trump. In January, Trump called him "Marble Mouth" and "a slot filler for scum." In August, Trump complained about Meyers' lack of talent and ratings, questioning why NBC would extend his contract.
Meyers, however, seems to take it in stride, saying it's "kind of nice" to be on Trump's radar. He joins the ranks of other late-night hosts like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon, who have all faced Trump's criticism.
In a recent segment, Meyers discussed Trump's speech, which jumped from magnets to steam-powered catapults. Trump described Meyers' take as that of a "deranged lunatic."
So, is Trump's claim about the illegality of mockery just a joke, or is there a deeper, more serious message here? What do you think? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
